The Shoes

Shoes are one of the most magical items in a woman's wardrobe. They have the power to transform her into many different versions of herself, from mountain climber to beach beauty to sexy siren.

Shoes are personal. Figgie shoes are ridiculously personal—their purpose is to try and explain, in picture and personality, who YOU are, to anyone who happens to be looking.

It has been said that good shoes will take you to good places—our hope for you is that these will be the best pair of shoes you've ever owned.

Now, let's talk details:

Shoe Styles

Nearly any shoe can be transformed into a Figgie Shoe. As long as there is some area to paint, we'll take it on!

That said, there are some restrictions to the shoe's fabric type. Any style or color will work for painting, but be aware that some finishes are not as ideal. For example, some shoes are limited to black and white art, like patent leather and suede.

Matte, synthetic leather is the best for painting, but cloth finishes, such as satin, are also acceptable.

Wondering Where to Get Your Shoes?

We recommend that you purchase your own shoes, if at all possible. By doing your own shopping, you'll have the assurance that your shoes will fit perfectly, and you'll be able to try on various styles to see what you like best.

If you are having some difficulty finding shoes, or if you're concerned about the amount of time it could potentially take to get your shoes to us, we offer shoe shopping assistance for a small fee. We don't stock shoes here, but we'd be happy to do some searching online and help you find a pair you love.

If we find shoes for you, the cost of the shoes plus our service fee will simply be added to your order total.

Personalization

This is the fun part.

The base price for a pair of shoes includes a completely customized design in Classic Black & White, including up to 12 personalized items or text.

Ah yes, this is the big question.

For simplicity's sake, we've standardized our pricing as much as possible. Regardless of the amount of detail in your final design, this guide should give you a very accurate idea of what your price will be. Prices as outlined do NOT include the actual shoes.

Booking & Order Process

Now that you've had a chance to look over all our information, we hope you're ready to book! Here's how that works:

Every order we receive is processed individually and will be accepted based on calendar availability. All our orders are fulfilled based on each client's requested in-hand date, rather than the date we receive the order. This allows us to structure our production around the date each person needs their shoes, which in turn makes our availability much broader. If you're ready to get started, here's a quick how-to guideline:

  1. Send a Booking Request. Use the form on our contact page to send us a query, making sure that you include both the country the shoes will be shipped to, and the date you need them. Once we've reviewed your email, and if we have your date available, we'll produce an order form for you.
  2. Complete the Order Form Query. This is the first step in our paperwork process. You will receive an email requesting basic information about your order, such as the in-hand date and any extras you want to add. Once we've gotten this back from you, your information will be reviewed and you'll receive an email confirming your entry into our calendar! A few days following, you'll also receive an official order form to complete.
  3. Confirm Your Order. Orders must be confirmed with payment in full within two weeks following your receipt of the order form. You will be on our calendar tentatively until the two week mark, at which time we'll contact you for confirmation if we still haven't received payment. We will always attempt to contact you before removing you from our schedule, but if we are unable to reach you we do reserve the right to cancel your order. If you wish to renew your order after cancellation, your new inquiry will be subject to current booking availability.
  4. Send Your Shoes! Once you've paid for your order, it's full steam ahead into production. At this point, we will need you to send your shoes, your completed order form and any support materials you'd like to include. Remember, the more you can tell us about yourself, the more personal your design will turn out to be, so please feel free to add extra pages, pictures, etc to your order form!

A little confused? Don't worry—we're happy to help with any questions you might have. If our FAQs don't clear up your concerns, please feel free to contact us!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What are your prices?

Download our current price guide! » 2012 Figgie Shoes Price & Info Sheet

Q: I can only wear low heels or flats. Are those available?

ANY style shoe can be painted so long as the fabric is not patent leather. Synthetic leather is best, but other fabric (satin, etc) can be painted as well. Heel height, colour of the shoe, style... totally up to you! That's what makes these so fun!

Can I see pictures of the shoes you provide?

Sorry, nope. I'm perfectly willing and happy to help you shop for shoes, either online or at stores local to me, but I don't have a warehouse full of shoes.

Q: I'm already married. Can I still order a pair? (OR "I'm not engaged but still want some!")

YES!! These are NOT exclusively bridal shoes! Designs can be ANYTHING—your favourite things, a favourite pattern or theme, and they don't have to have names or dates listed. It's ALL ABOUT YOU and what you want!

Q: Are they waterproof?

Most pairs are completely waterproof, but there are some specific colours that are not. When you're ordering colours, I'll let you know if I'm not able to create the right colour with a waterproof ink so that you're aware ahead of time!

Q: What is your production time?

A minimum of six weeks from the time I have your shoes is ideal, but if you have a last minute request, shoot me an email anyway! Depending on my availability, I may be able to fit in your order. (Last minute orders need to allow for shipping time if you're not local to the Windsor/Essex area.)

Q: What's in the PDF?

A full description of the process, who provides the shoes, as well as pricing and contact information. (And photos!) Most of the initial questions are answered in the PDF, but if you have any others, you can always let me know and I'll be happy to answer them!

Q: Do you offer any regular, ongoing deals?

I do! You receive a 10% discount on your own pair if you refer a friend! Discounts are also applied to multiple pair orders, including bridal parties! Contact me for further details.

Figgie Brides (clients of Figgie Photography) also receive a 10% discount on a pair, whether they are previous OR current clients!

Q: WHEN CAN I HAVE MINE?!

Email me now and we'll set you right up!! Let's go shoe shopping!!!
